Back to the real world
Yesterday started off easy enough.  After gathering all my biking gear, i went to pick up the bike from my "storage"  aka my mom's garage.  My brother was taking off for his first day at his new job as a janitor, keeping it in the family (that's what his dad does).  Talked to him for a minute about his newly acquired job situation then loaded up the bike and headed to the forest.
The weather could only be summed up as "bitchin' wet".  It was not raining but the humidity was to the next level, meaning high.  This meant for some kick ass sites as going through a thick forest in a nice light fog has a mystic effect.  The actually biking was something else as it had been raining pretty hard the night before.  Every little rock and root proved to be problematic, not to mention the copious amounts of mud.  For the most part the trails were nice, however some had fallen to poor maintenance and the underbrush got a little overbearing.  Getting hit in the shins by Nettle bushes when going down a very technical trail way too fast was not the highlight of the trip.  Despite the nasty conditions, it was still a lot of fun.  I spent a good 4 hours out there.  First went up to capitol peak, which had absolutely no view as it was foggy as hell.  Descended the entire way into Fall Creek camp (via greenline 6 for those who know the area).  Coming back up Mima Porter was hell.  Not only was the brush nice and overgrown, but the trail was slick as hell (literally at parts had a creek running down it), and had some of the most monster roots in the path.  Ended up spending about 70% of the climb on my feet with the bike over my shoulder (that's an exact percentage in case you were wondering).
Finally arriving at the car, I was soaked, muddy, tired and ready for a nice hosing down.  Of course by this time the weather had cleared and it was nice and toasty hot, which meant the mud on the bike was nice and caked on when I had to clean it.  After cleaning and properly lubricating everything (EVERYTHING!), I put the bike back in "storage" (mom's garage), and went home to lick my wounds and clean up (by the way, nettles and scratches feel extra nice in the shower with soap and hot water running over them).
I spent the rest of the day hanging out with my amigo, Scott.  He showed me some pics of  his son, cute little devil.  After all that nonsense, me and he went over to trosper's bar and grill, got a pitcher of Mac n' Jack's African ale, and chatted it up in hopes that a pool table would open, we left disapointed.  I took him home ( he does not drive) and went home myself to get some sleep for work today.
I feel pretty apathetic about work today.  It wasn't a great or bad day.  Then again, any day that isn't bad is a good day.  My shiny new sandals arrived today.  They are Montrail Molokais.  You stick the things in the oven for 3 minutes then stand in em so they can mold to your foot.  Molded them as soon as I got home.  So far they're pretty damn comfy.  Unfortunately they're not adjustable and my skinny feet don't fill them in too well.
That brings us to the present and so I have nothing more to say, goodnight.
